Mack’s Bike Shop is Hosting a Used Bike Swap Meet on October 18, 2025

The event is open to the public and will feature bike hardgoods not typically available in a retail bike shop. There will be coffee, music, and a pumpkin patch.

CHICAGO, September 9, 2025 – Mack’s Bikes in Evanston, IL is hosting a cooperative bike market on October 18, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The event is open to the public and will include coffee, music, a pumpkin patch, and a selection of bike hardgoods not typically found in retail bike shops.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own bikes, components, and gear to sell, trade, or give away.

“This kind of bike-related swap meet is rare in Chicago,” says Peter, bike mechanic and event organizer at Mack’s Bike Shop. “With only a couple happening each year, this is one of the last chances to clear out your garage before winter hits. There will be folks selling some really cool vintage bikes and components you won’t find at most shops.”

A Break from Traditional Bike Shops
Mack’s Bikes caters to the “alternative biking” or the “xbiking” community—riders who aren’t chasing trends or racing tech, but who value timeless, practical components for commuting, exploring, and hobby riding. Like the shop itself, the market will reflect this ethos, highlighting bikes and gear that serve real-world riders, not just industry hype.

About Mack’s Bike Shop
Mack’s is a full-service bike shop that doubles as a neighborhood gathering spot. The shop stocks components and accessories from small, niche suppliers—no high-pressure sales, no quotas—just honest gear for everyday adventures.
